Taylor and Heather Shanks started Shanks Concrete Coatings in 2025. Before that, Taylor went to southern Indiana and trained directly with Brian Phillips, the installer most of this trade knows as The Epoxy Dude. That training was not a weekend certificate. It was preparation technique first, then application, then the details that separate a floor still tight in ten years from one that lifts at the door in two.
The company is deliberately small. Taylor is on site for the grind, the patch, the broadcast and the topcoat on every job, which puts a hard ceiling on how many floors can run at once. That is the trade-off, and it is the one the business is built on.

Nobody quotes a concrete floor honestly over the phone. The condition of the slab is most of the price, so Taylor looks at it, measures it, and puts a real number in writing.

If a grind and seal serves your room better than a full flake build, you will hear that, even though it is the smaller job. Selling somebody a floor they did not need is a bad way to get a referral.

Three to four days for a standard two-car garage, stated up front. Weather can move an outdoor job, and you will be told why rather than left waiting.

How to clean it, what to avoid while it reaches full hardness, and what to do if something looks wrong later. If it does, tell him rather than living with it.
